[01] Weather forecast for Cyprus1350:CYPPRESS:01Weather forecast for Cyprus Nicosia, Sep 22 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus: Tuesday and Wednesday: 23/09/2003 to 24/09/2003 ---------------------- The weather on Tuesday will be mainly fine with local cloud during the afternoon. During the morning gentle Northwesterly to Northwesterly breezes 3 BF will predominate. In the afternoon Southwesterly to Northwesterly moderate breezes 4 BF will prevail. The sea state will be generally slight and locally moderate. Temperature will rise up to 32C inland and over the southern and eastern coasts, around 30 C over the west coasts and 21C over mountains. The minimum temperature will be around 17C inland and over the western coasts, 20C over the southern and eastern coasts and 13C over mountains. Similar conditions will prevail on Wednesday. Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 25/09/2003 - 26/09/2003 The weather will continue to be mainly fine with patchy cloud developing during the afternoon. Temperature will note a small decrease. [02] Government not notified if legal advice requested over Euro elections1440:CYPPRESS:02Government not notified if legal advice requested over Euro elections Nicosia, Sep 22 (CNA) - Cyprus Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said today that for the time being the European Parliament has not officially notified the Cypriot government if its President Pat Cox has requested from the European Parliament's law service legal advice regarding the European elections in Cyprus. The Spokesman noted, however, that ''any decision and any expression of views on behalf of the European Parliament will, of course, be taken into consideration by all those involved in examining the matter, that is the political parties, the National Council and the government''. Palacio, whose speech was read by Jaqcues Michaux from European Commission Directorate General Energy and Trasport, said that Cyprus' accession to the EU will increase the Union's percentage in world maritime, as well as the position the Union holds in this sector internationally.
