Nicosia, Aug 20 (CNA) -- UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iraq Andreas Mavrommatis has said the attack against the UN headquarters in Baghdad constitutes an attack against the interests of the Iraqi people.

Nicosia, Aug 20 (CNA) -- Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos sent today a letter of condolences to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan regarding the bomb attack which devastated the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad on Tuesday, killing 24 people and wounding scores.

Foreign Ministry condemns bomb attack on UN headquarters in Baghdad

Nicosia, Aug 20 (CNA) The Foreign Ministry, in a statement here Wednesday, condemned the bomb attack against the UN headquarters in Baghdad on Tuesday and expressed its deep regret for the victims, including UN Secretary-Generals Special Representative to Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.

In its statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed sympathy to the members of the victims families, Secretary General Kofi Anan and the entire UN staff.

Nicosia, Aug 20 (CNA) - - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned here Wednesday the suicide attack in West Jerusalem last night, which resulted in the death of at least 20 people and wounded 100.
