Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Jul 28 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 29/07/2003 to 30/07/2003

The weather will be fine and clear. Risk of local mist patches overnight and towards dawn. Gentle to moderate sea breezes will prevail, expected locally fresh over the south, in the afternoon. Light to gentle southwesterly to northwesterly winds, will blow overnight. The sea state will be generally slight, by temporarily over the south up to moderate, in the afternoon.

Maximum temperature is expected to reach 38C inland, around 34C over the south and east coasts, around 31C over the west and around 29C over Prodromos. Temperature is expected to fall overnight to around 24C inland, 21-23 C over the coasts and to 19C over Prodromos.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 31/07/2003 to 01/08/2003

No significant change is expectd.

Spokesman says internal trade only within the law

Nicosia, Jul 28 (CNA) - The government of the Republic of Cyprus is ready to go to great lengths to help the Turkish Cypriots in the context of internal trade on the island but only to the extent that it will not be exposed before the EU, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said today.

The Spokesman noted that the government's clear position is that ''the laws and regulations of the Republic of Cyprus must be observed''.
