[01] Crossing of divide continues0930:CYPPRESS:01Crossing of divide continues Nicosia, May 5 (CNA)-- As the flow to and from the occupied areas continues, police said today that a new crossing point in the area of Ayios Dhometios will propably open tomorrow, as works in the vicinity by the occupation regime in the northern Turkish occupied part of Cyprus are still going on. A police spokesman told CNA that the works on the part of the Greek Cypriot side have been completed and that the Greek Cypriot side is ready to open the crossing point at any time. United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) has said the crossing point is not going to open today and that it will inform that public as soon as the new checkpoint is ready for use. Yesterday a total of 8,561 Turkish Cypriots had crossed into the government-controlled areas of the Republic after the easing of restrictions on free movement of Cypriots, which the illegal Turkish Cypriot regime in occupied Cyprus had imposed after the 1974 Turkish invasion.
