British Bases prepare for possible attack against Iraq

Papandreou hopes for Cyprus settlement by end of February

Nicosia, Dec 30 (CNA) Greece hopes that negotiations for a Cyprus settlement will yield results by 28 February, a target date set by the UN, so that a reunited Cyprus can sign the European Union Accession Treaty, said Foreign Minister George Papandreou.

[06] Denktash under pressure for settlement, says Spokesman

I do not think any logical person can accept that Mr. Denktash has changed his position views in such short time and has become compliant, the Spokesman added.

He said many things will be assessed by the extend in which the new Turkish government will be able to strengthen its positions and put pressure on Denktash to maintain a more flexible attitude.
