Jordans Foreign Minister, Dr. Marwan Muasher, said "we also encourage the effort by the two sides in Cyprus to reach a just and peaceful solution of the Cyprus question." In the extract on Cyprus, Maltese Foreign Minister Dr Joe Borg said "an issue which continues to persist in the Mediterranean is the situation in Cyprus which has remained a cause of concern for over 25 years". Borg, who was in Cyprus accompanying Malta's President Guido de Marco last week, said "we earnestly augur that an early settlement of the Cyprus question will be found and reiterate full support for the effort to find a solution on the basis of the relevant Security Council resolutions".
