President Clerides returns from Denmark
Larnaca, Jun 4 (CNA) - Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides returned today
from Denmark, where he paid a working visit, saying that statements by
Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen that the EU would be
"reluctant to accept unsolved border problems within the Union" did not
mean that it would not accept Cyprus.
Speaking at Larnaca Airport, the President also said Rasmussen was
replying to a question on "border problems" that did not refer
especially to the Cyprus problem but to the fact that some candidate
for accession to the EU countries of Central Europe had such problems
with neighbouring states.
