Hospital sources told CNA the cholocystectomy was successful and Christofias will most probably leave the hospital tomorrow and stay home for one week. The operation lasted for 1 and a half hours. CNA/MK/GP/2001 ENDS, CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY1400:CYPPRESS:04[04] Britain - Turkish occupied areas - Money launderingLondon, Oct 26 (CAN) -- British Minister for Europe Peter Hain said there is evidence that Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus are vulnerable to exploitation by those involved in money laundering and assured that British authorities will continue to remain alert to the activities of financial institutions in the area.Answering a question by Labour MP Andrew Dismore, in the House of Commons, Hain said that the self-styled Turkish Cypriot regime in the occupied areas "has taken some steps to combat this" and noted that, as the regime is not internationally recognized, except by Turkey, it never has been formally assessed by any of the leading global anti- money laundering organisations.
