CNA/GSA/RM/MK/2001 2038:CYPPRESS:07[07] Health Minister - Anthrax diseaseNicosia, Oct 11 (CNA) -- Cyprus has at its disposal medicines for the treatment of the anthrax disease, should it occur, Cyprus Health Minister Frixos Savvides told CNA today, however noting that in case of massive affection of the population, fatalities would be unavoidable.Savvides said that anthrax disease is treated with penicillin, which is produced in Cyprus, by pharmaceutical companies and noted that Cyprus is in position to provide penicillin for other countries in case of an emergency.
