  • [01] Weather forecast for Cyprus Íicosia, May 28 (CNA) - The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus: Tuesday and Wednesday: 29/05/2001 to 30/05/2001 Fine and mostly clear on Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds will be light to moderate sea breazes and the state of sea slight to moderate. Maximum temperature: 34°C inland and around 29°C over coastal areas. Minimum temperature: Around 19°C. Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 31/05/2001 to 01/06/2001 No significant change. Small rises in temperature is expected on Friday. Sea Temperature: 22C. CNA/GP/2001

  • [02] Elections - Greece - Comment Nicosia, May 28 (CNA) -- Greece has expressed the conviction that the new House of Representatives in Cyprus will continue to work and accelerate the Republic's effort to join the European Union. According to Athens News Agency, Spokesman for the Greek Foreign Ministry Panayiotis Beglitis also said nobody can obstruct Cyprus' accession course, dismissing Turkish threats for unlimited response should Cyprus join the EU without a prior political settlement.
