    [01] US - Cyprus - EU accession

    Washington, Mar 22 (CNA) - US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher has clarified that the US strongly supports the European Union (EU) decision that a settlement in Cyprus would facilitate the Republic's accession but is not a precondition.

    Invited yesterday to comment on references on the issue made by designee for Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Marc Grossman, Boucher said they should not be over interpreted.

    Weather: On Friday the weather will be cloudy at times with isolated showers. On Saturday mainly fine with local cloud giving probably some showers.

    Wind: Fresh to strong in the afternoon, moderate at night.

    Mainly fine with no significant change in temperature.
