[01] President - British Minister of State
Nicosia, Mar 14 (CNA) -- Britain considers that the UN-led peace effort,
which started in December 1999 through proximity talks between the Greek
and Turkish Cypriot sides, has not come to an end, even though there is a
temporary interruption in the process.
This is the position British Minister of State Keith Vaz communicated to
President Glafcos Clerides during a one-hour long meeting here today, CNA
has learned.

[02] Cyprobarometer - Laiki Group annual survey
Nicosia, Mar 14 (CNA) -- An annual survey, conducted along the same lines
as the Eurobarometer, has registered a positive view about Cyprus'
accession to the European Union, with economic development topping the bill
as far as benefits from the EU are concerned and national security coming
second place.
The 1000 Cypriots, aged 18-75, who took part in the survey appeared
pessimistic about economic development in 2001 and said buying shares of
public companies is their last option in investment plans.

[03] Cyprus - Foot-and-mouth disease - New measures
Nicosia, Mar 14 (CNA) - Cyprus will enforce all measures decided yesterday
by the European Union veterinary committee, as well as those of other
international organisations, that provide for the banning of imports of
livestock and dangerous animal products from Argentina and France.
The announcement was made by Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment
Minister Costas Themistocleous, after a cabinet meeting.
