    [01] Cypriot MP - UNESCO European NGO's - Presidency

    Nicosia, Feb 19 (CNA) - Cypriot deputy George Christophides has been elected first president of the newly established European Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations.

    Speaking to CNA from Romania, where the first Executive Council was elected, Christofides described his election as an "honour for Cyprus" and pledged to promote closer ties with the Council of Europe and the European Union.

    Ķicosia, Feb 19 (CNA) - The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Weather: Unstable with showers, local thunderstorms and snowfall over Troodos.

    Wind: On Tuesday Southwesterly fresh to strong and on Wednesday moderate to fresh.

    Unstable with showers and local thunderstorms. Possible snowfall over Troodos.
