    [01] British MP - Cyprus

Nicosia, Feb 17 (CNA) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair appears ready to raise the Cyprus question at next month's meeting with US President George Bush, according to British Labour MP Stephen Twigg, who also said Europe should give full support to a just and viable settlement and to the promotion of Cyprus' accession course towards the European Union.

The British deputy said Britain is determined to get the Turkish Cypriots back to the negotiating table and is applying various methods to try and achieve this goal.

    [02] Cyprus - Turkey - European Court

Nicosia, Feb 17 (CNA) -- The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe is set to issue a third interim resolution, in strongly worded language, to press upon Turkey its contractual obligation to comply with a European Court of Human Rights decision relating to human rights violations in Cyprus.

Greek Cypriot lawyer Achilleas Demetriades, who acted on behalf of Titina Loizidou in the Court case, welcomed the Committee's decision, by majority vote, but stressed the need to always bring Turkey before its obligations towards the Court and said the content of the proposed resolution should be studied very carefully.
