Nicosia, Jan 23 (CNA) -- Council of Europe (CoE) General Secretary Walter Schwimmer has expressed his concern with the abduction and illegal detention of a Greek Cypriot by the regime in the areas of Cyprus occupied by Turkey since 1974, and has called for the respect of international law, replying to question after briefing the Parliamentary Assembly on the Council's activities.

In the meantime, UN Peace-keeping Force (UNFICYP) acting spokesman Charles Gaulkin told CNA today that doctors have visited Panicos Tziakourmas, who was abducted last December, and his condition "is pretty much the same... He is still rather depressed".
