[01] Chinese Vice President - Cyprus - Official visit
Nicosia, Jan 14 (CNA) -- Vice President of the People's Republic of China
Hu Jintao arrives here tomorrow for a three-day official visit during which
he will have top-level meetings aiming at strengthening relations between
the two countries.
Hu's visit to Cyprus is part of a five-country tour to the region,
including Jordan, Iran, Syria and Uganda, a spokeswoman for the Chinese
Foreign Ministry has said.

[02] Cyprus - International phone calls - Rate cuts
Nicosia, Jan 14 (CNA) -- The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CyTA),
the island's state telecoms monopoly, puts into effect as from tomorrow its
new decreased charges for international phone calls.
A CyTA statement says that with the introduction of the new rates, some of
its international charges will have fallen by up to 83 per cent since
August.

[03] Cyprus Defence Minister - Visit to Greece
Nicosia, Jan 14 (CNA) -- Cyprus Defence Minister Socrates Hasikos leaves
later today for a three-day visit to Greece during which he will meet his
Greek counterpart Akis Tsohatzopoulos to discuss issues relating to the
European Union's rapid reaction force, according to the ministry spokesman.
Speaking to CNA, Andreas Giorkas also said investigations are being carried
out to establish whether Turkish tanks in the Turkish occupied areas of
Cyprus carry depleted uranium weapons.
