[01] Islamic Conference - Cyprus question
Doha, Nov 12 (CNA) - The Foreign Ministers' preparatory meeting of the
ninth session of the Islamic Summit Conference, beginning today in Qatar,
yesterday approved the draft resolution on the situation in Cyprus, which
reaffirms the previous resolutions of the Islamic Conferences on the Cyprus
question.
The Draft resolution expresses "firm support for the rightful cause of the
Turkish Muslim people of Cyprus who constitute an integral part of the
Islamic world" and recalls that "in more than 35 years since the
establishment of the UN peace keeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), it has not
been possible to achieve a negotiated settlement of the Cyprus problem".
