Greek and Turkish Foreign Ministers - Meeting
by Maria Myles New York, Sep 17 (CNA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ismail Cem
has sent a message of hope for Greek and Turkish relations but refused to
extend that message to Cyprus, while at the same time a senior Turkish
diplomatic source has disclosed to CNA that Cem's speech before the UN
General Assembly was Turkey's response to the Greek Foreign Minister's
address earlier this week.
Public statements by the two Ministers, after a working lunch at a Greek
restaurant in New York, indicate that the Cyprus question was not on their
agenda.
