    Nicosia, Apr 24 (CNA) -- The presence of so many beautiful women in Cyprus, to compete for the title of Miss Universe in mid-May, reawakens the legend of beauty and love, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Nicos Rolandis said here today, welcoming officially to Cyprus beauty queens from all over the world.

    "Very soon the eyes of the world will be turned upon you, and we have done and will do everything we can to make you feel at home throughout your stay in our country," the minister said at the official welcome dinner.

    [02] Australian Minister - Visit

    Nicosia, Apr 24 (CNA) -- Australian Federal Minister for Justice and Customs, Senator Amanda Vanstone, arrives here tonight for a brief visit to meet with men and women serving in the Australian Federal Police Contingent with the UN peace-keeping force in Cyprus.

    The minister will attend an Australian police function Tuesday morning at UNFICYP headquarters and is scheduled to meet Cyprus Minister of Justice and Public Order Nicos Koshis.

    Nicosia, Apr 24 (CNA) -- According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 25/04/2000 to 26/04/2000

    Fine weather with local cloud on Tuesday and partly cloudy with local showers.

    Winds: Southwesterly light to moderate and the state of sea will be slight.

    Maximum temperature 23 C inladn and around 21 C over coast.

    Minimum temperature 11 C inland and around 13 C over coast.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 27/04/2000 to 28/04/2000

    Local showers or thunderstorms. No significant change in temperature.

    Sea temperature: 18 C
