    [01] Non-Aligned Movement - Cyprus question

    Nicosia, Apr 10 (CNA) -- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has urged for a settlement to the Cyprus problem based on UN resolutions and the Movement's decisions, and called for the speeding up of efforts to reach a solution on the island.

    In a paragraph referring to Cyprus in the Final Declaration adopted by the Political Committee, at a ministerial meeting that ended yesterday in Colombia, the Movement expresses deep concern with the lack of progress in Cyprus due to the Turkish side's intransigence.

    Weather: Mainly fine. Wind: Southwesterly moderate, fresh in the afternoon. Temperature: Maximum (22-24) C, Minimum (10-12) C

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday 13/04/2000 to 14/04/2000

    On Thursday some showers are expected during the afternoon mainly over the mountains.

    On Friday the weather will be mainly fine. Temperature is expected to increase.

    Sea temperature: 18C

    [03] International Law Congress

    Nicosia, Apr 10 (CNA) -- Eminent lawyers from around the globe heard here today calls for global thinking and cooperation to promote legal profession practices and through that human rights and the rule of law and stressed the need to secure a better quality of life for all peoples of the world.

    About 300 legal experts, who gathered here for a five-day International Law Congress, organised by the Cyprus Bar Association, will discuss issues relating to litigation, ethics and human rights, European Union and business banking among many other topics.
