Nicosia, Feb 24 (CNA) -- Greek and Turkish Cypriots, members of human
rights associations on both sides of the divide, will meet in Bratislava on
March 3-4 to discuss freedom of movement and freedom of speech. This will
be the second out of four meetings planned under the auspices of the
Council of Europe. The Bratislava meeting is co-organised by the Slovak
Embassy in Nicosia and the non governmental Slovak National Centre for
Human Rights.

[01] Weather forecast for Cyprus
Nicosia, Feb 24 CNA) - According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca
International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is: Friday and
Saturday: 25/02/2000 to 26/02/2000 The weather will be partly cloudy with
probably light local showers and light snowfalls over the highest peaks of
Troodos range. The wind will prevail Southwest to West moderate 4 to 5 bf
during day time reduced to West to Northwest 3 to 4 bf during night time.
The state of sea will be generally moderate but up to rough over the
exposed areas. The maximum temperature will range from 13 to 16 degrees C
and the minimum from 4 to 6 degrees C. Outlook for Sunday and Monday:
27/02/2000 to 28/02/2000 The weather on Sunday and Monday will be showery,
with also snowfall over the highest peaks of Troodos range and on Monday at
lowers levels. The wind will be generally Northwest to Northeast moderate 3
to locally 4 to 5 bf and the state of sea slight to moderate but locally
over the windward areas moderate to rough. The temperature will note a
fall. Sea Temperature: 15C.

1310:CYPPRESS:03 Fontaine - Villiers - Cyprus
Nicosia, Feb 24 (CNA) -- European Parliament President, Nicole Fontaine,
said she is extremely concerned about the occupation of the island's
northern third, expressing the hope that the current proximity talks on
Cyprus will achieve positive results to benefit both communities and the
region. In a reply letter to Theresa Villiers, MEP for London, Fontaine
further noted that she is keeping in touch with developments on the Cyprus
question.
