London, Feb 13 (CNA) -- Consultant Rex Stambridge who yesterday carried out
an operation at Saint Mary's Hospital to rewire the sternum of President of
the House of Representatives Spyros Kyprianou has said the operation went
well and his condition is good.
Kyprianou left for London urgently on Friday to undergo the operation
due to problems he was facing following an open-heart surgery he had in the
US last month.

[02] Newly-weds - Rizokarpaso
Nicosia, Feb 13 (CNA) -- A young Greek-Cypriot couple will begin married
life in the village of Rizokarpaso, one of the few villages in the Turkish-
occupied northern part of the island where a few hundred enclaved Greek
Cypriots still remain.
Andreas Achilleos from Rizokarpaso and Giorgoulla Yiasoumi, a refugee
from Turkish-ocuppied Famagusta tied the knot yesterday afternoon in Kalo
Chorio in the southern Larnaca district in the presence of government
officials, political party leaders and representatives, and thousands of
people.
