[02] Cyprus - European Parliament
Nicosia, Feb 11 (CNA) - Euro-MPs are scheduled to have a debate on the
Cyprus question on Wednesday next week after this body accepted a proposal
to that effort by one of its members.
Leaders of the political groups at the European Parliament accepted
unanimously a proposal by Francis Wurtz, President of the Confederal Group
of the European United Left (Nordic Green Left), to discuss the Cyprus
issue and the latest developments in efforts to settle the problem. The
debate was set for Wednesday 16 February.

[03] House President - Health
Larnaca, Feb 11 (CNA) - House President Spyros Kyprianou has expressed
hope that he would overcome the new health problems he is facing, barely a
month after he underwent major heart surgery in the US.
"I really did not expect this complication. It is very unfortunate
because everything was going well after the operation I had in January,"
Kyprianou, a former President of the Republic, said here today as he was
leaving for London for tomorrow's operation.
