Speaking at a press conference at the end of the second round of the proximity talks, de Soto clarified that this round did not involve any negotiations but that the process is on track and the improvement of relations between Turkey and Greece gives ground for hope. In an opening statement at the end of the proximity talks that began in Geneva on January 31, de Soto said various issues were addressed "in the exploratory way that they have been addressed until now".
