A total of 950 people, over 18, throughout the occupied territories took part. The poll included Turkish settlers, who are described as "Turkish Cypriots" since the occupation regime has granted them so-called "citizenship". The poll was published in the Turkish Cypriot newspaper "Kibris". CNA SA/EC/GP/20001600:CYPPRESS:03[03] President - Britain - NuclearNicosia, Jan 1 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides has said the UK has not informed the government of the Republic about the existence or not of nuclear weapons on the military bases Britain has retained after it granted Cyprus its independence in 1960.He also said in the past there were indications that nuclear weapons were probably stored at the Bases but noted that things have changed since then. On his part, British High Commissioner in Nicosia Edward Clay neither denied nor confirmed reports about nuclear weapons in the British Bases in Cyprus and pointed out that London does not comment on such issues.
