The same sources said that Cyprus' delegation here leaves New York satisfied in that the dynamic created by the conclusions of the European Union Summit in Helsinki is expected to be translated also into the continuation of the new round of proximity talks next year. The sources also pointed out that the draft UN Security Council resolution on Cyprus reaffirms all relevant resolutions and in particular 1251 of June 1999 which refers to the parametres of a Cyprus settlement, noting that a solution must be based on a state of Cyprus with a single sovereignty and international personality.
