[01] Conference - Greek women in Europe
Nicosia, Oct 23 (CNA) -- The role women of Greek origin living in third
countries play in safekeeping the national identity was underlined today at
a two-day conference on "Greek Women in Europe of the 21st century" that
opened today in Nicosia, organised by the European branch of the Council of
Overseas Hellenes.
In his address to the conference, President Glafcos Clerides made
special note of women's role in keeping their children in touch with the
Greek language and culture.

[02] House President - Greek Deputy Foreign Minister
Nicosia, Oct 23 (CNA) -- Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Grigoris Niotis
today said that the Cyprus question is going through a delicate phase and
that US efforts for peace talks to resume are continuing.
Niotis was speaking after a meeting with House of Representatives
President Spyros Kyprianou with whom he discussed the Cyprus problem,
Turkey's European Union aspirations, and issues relating to Greeks living
abroad and how they can help efforts for a settlement on the island.
