    [01] Waterworld Waterpark - Awards

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- The Waterworld Waterpark, at the southeastern tourist resort of Ayia Napa, has been presented two major awards from the World Waterpark Association (WWA).

    Following Waterworld Waterpark's latest achievement, the number of awards it has been presented with from the WWA is now five. The two latest awards have been presented at the recent WWA meeting in Santa Clara, California. The first was presented for "Best Sales Presentation Video" and the second for "Best In-Park Promotional Event".

    [02] Denktash - Moses - Second meeting - Statements

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash remained firm in his position for two states in Cyprus, calling on the Greek Cypriot side to "accept the realities" as he said, for there to be a settlement.

    Speaking after his second meeting with US Presidential Emissary Alfred Moses, Denktash said the US official listened to both sides and will give a press conference tomorrow, adding that Moses will be back in the region in a few weeks.

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- US Presidential Emissary, Alfred Moses, had a second meeting today with President Glafcos Clerides this afternoon.

    The 40-minute long meeting, which took place after Moses had met with Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash in Turkish occupied Nicosia, the US official described his talks as "very good".

    [04] President - Corruption meeting

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- President Glafcos Clerides said today that "Cyprus is adopting and implementing all international measures to fight crime, including assistance to the authorities of other countries".

    In an opening address to the 4th Conference of Specialised Services in the Fight Against Corruption, taking place in Cyprus, President Clerides said that "corruption is today an international problem, which shows increase tendencies in the world community", adding that "the fight against corruption is one of the major tasks undertaken by the Council of Europe".

    [05] Spokesman - US officials

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- A US envoy for Cyprus has not managed to sidestep a demand by Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash for the recognition of the illegal regime in the areas of Cyprus occupied by Turkey since 1974 that would have allowed peace talks to resume.

    Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou told reporters after the President of the Republic Glafcos Clerides met US Presidential Emissary Alfred Moses for the second time today, that the UN chief should call peace talks and if the Turkish side refuses to participate he should apportion blame.

    [06] European Democrat Union - Meeting

    Nicosia, Oct 20 (CNA) -- Right wing Democratic Rally party (DISI) will host a meeting of the European Democrat Union here between October 21 and 23.

    Speaking at a press conference, DISI Secretary for International Relations Manthos Mavrommatis said 28 participants from 14 countries and four European organisations will participate in the meeting.
