[01] Hellenic Leadership Conference - Cyprus
Washington, Oct 8 (CNA) -- The annual Hellenic Leadership Conference held
Washington has expressed disappointment by the lack of progress on the
Cyprus issue and the apparent unwillingness to fully utilise available
leverage during and following the meeting of President Clinton and Clinton
Administration officials with the Turkish Prime Minister.
A joint statement adopted at the Conference notes that the
participants are pleased by the continuing commitment of leaders in the US
Congress to press, through the use of incentives and disincentives for a
Cyprus settlement.
