Nicosia, Oct 1 (CNA) -- The President of Greece Costis Stephanopoulos, in a
congratulatory message to President Glafcos Clerides, said Cyprus can rely
on the Greek nation in its efforts to find a just and viable solution of
the Cyprus question.
"You can rely with trust on the solidarity and support of the entire
Greek nation," Stephanopoulos said, noting that the close bonds between the
two countries were enhanced in the past 25 years.

Nicosia, Oct 1 (CNA) -- US President Bill Clinton has expressed his
continuous commitment to the peace effort in Cyprus aiming at finding a
just and lasting settlement.
In a congratulatory message to President Glafcos Clerides, Clinton
said "the US remains committed to finding a just and lasting solution to
the Cyprus problem that will reconcile the differences that have divided
Cyprus for far too long."

[03] Military Parade - President Clerides
Nicosia, Oct 1 (CNA) -- President Glafcos Clerides said he was pleased with
the "perfect" parade which displayed excellent discipline and immaculate
military hardware.
Having taken the salute, he referred to the display of Aspide missiles
and the recently acquired Russian TOR-M1 anti-aircraft systems but pointed
out "there is more which we are not putting on display."
