[01] Cypriot MPs to attend CEPA meetings
Nicosia, May 24 (CNA) -- Two Cypriot deputies leave later today for Lisbon,
where they will attend meetings of the Council of Europe Parliamentary
Assembly (CEPA) on May 25 and 26.
Head of the Cypriot delegation at CEPA, MP Panayiotis Demetriou, and
member of the Assembly, MP Takis Hadjidemetriou, will take part in the
spring meetings of the CEPA presidium, the Political Affairs Committee and
the Assembly bureau and Standing Committee.
Among issues to be discussed are the latest developments in Yugoslavia,
Kossovo and Albania, the state of women refugees in Europe, the Unidroit
Convention on stolen or illegally exported cultural items and the agreement
on Northern Ireland.
"Unfortunately, Cyprus has not yet signed the Unidroit Convention,"
Hadjidemetriou told CNA Sunday and pointed out he will "strongly" support
it.
