    [01] Spokesman on Holbrooke

Nicosia, Mar 4 (CNA) -- The government considers that a top US Cyprus envoy continues to be dedicated to the Cyprus question and has no information to the contrary.

"We would like to believe that US Presidential Emissary Richard Holbrooke will remain dedicated to the Cyprus problem. As we have no other information, the previous assurances that Holbrooke is an envoy for Cyprus still stand," Government Spokesman Christos Stylianides said here today.

Replying to questions, the Spokesman said there were no indications that Holbrooke would get involved in the Balkan crisis.

"The government does not have any information about Holbrooke's involvement in the crisis in the Balkan," he added.
