    [01] Apostolopoulou arrives in Cyprus

Larnaca, Jan 4 (CNA) -- Celebrated Greek Scientist, Vaso Apostolopoulou, responsible for the discovery of a vaccine against cancer, arrived here today to brief the medical community on her discovery.

Speaking at Larnaca airport, Apostolopoulou said she was convinced cancer will one day become an illness of the past.

She added that the results of her research have gained international recognition and said she will depart for the US by the end of this month to continue her research.

Science, Apostolopoulou pointed out, has made great progress in recent years and many illnesses considered incurable or even deadly in the past can now be treated successfully.
