1450:CYPPRESS:01[01] House President to visit MoscowNicosia, May 5 (CNA) -- President of the Cyprus House of Representatives, Spyros Kyprianou, will pay an official visit to Moscow next month.Russian Federation ambassador to Cyprus, Georgi Muratov, conveyed an invitation to Kyprianou at a meeting here today. The invitation is in return of a visit to Cyprus by Gennadi Seleznev, President of the Russian Duma, in late March. The exact date of the visit will be fixed at a later stage. Kyprianou told the press after his meeting that a multi-party delegation will probably accompany him to Moscow. He said his forthcoming visit would serve as a "useful" move in efforts to enhance ties between the Cyprus and the Russian Parliaments. CNA MM/GP/1997ENDS, CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY1415:CYPPRESS:02[02] President Clerides to visit ChinaNicosia, May 5 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides will pay a five- day official visit to China later this month at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Jiang Zemin.President Clerides received here today the ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cyprus, Yin Zuojin, and discussed details of his upcoming official visit in China, scheduled to take place between May 18 and 23. Zuojin said during his visit "President Clerides will meet with the Chinese political leadership and exchange views on bilateral relations, the Cyprus question and other international issues." The Chinese ambassador expressed the conviction that President Clerides' visit to China will boost existing friendly relations between the two countries.
