ONE OF THE ISSUES THE NEW HOUSE WILL DEAL WITH IS THE ELECTION OF THE NEW HOUSE PRESIDENT. THE OUTGOING PRESIDENT IS ALEXIS GALANOS, OF THE CENTRE-RIGHT DEMOCRATIC PARTY (DIKO), WHO WAS RE-ELECTED FOR THE FAMAGUSTA DISTRICT.

THE NEW MP'S DRAW A COLOURFUL PICTURE INCLUDING CHILDREN OF CURRENT AND FORMER PRESIDENTS OF THE REPUBLIC, A COUPLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, TWO FORMER CYPRUS PRESIDENTS, A FORMER STATE CORONER WHO WAS SUCKED BY THE HEALTH MINISTER AND A NEW POLITICAL PARTY OUT OF THE THREE WHICH CONTESTED.
