VIENNA - The president of Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ Milorad DOdik
and the representatives of the Association of citizens of RS at the
provisional work abroad have recently reached the agreement about the
series of opened issues which are concerning the citizens of RS who live
outside of their fatherland. At the meeting in Bijeljina Dodik explained to
the secretary of the Association Nikola Simic that the problem which mostly
concerns the citizens of RS abroad - is the war tax, finally repealed. The
president of the Government has announced that on September 1 this year
will be repealed the toll and paying toll in the amount of 20 DEM for
vehicles with foreign registration plates, what was another reason for the
citizens abroad to travel to their fatherland.
DOBOJ - The Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ will continue the struggle for
keeping RS by political means - was announced last night to the journalists
in Doboj, after the extraordinary session of the Main board /GO/ of the
party, at which was considered the current situation related to the pre-
electoral campaign. In the oral announcement is stated that the members of
GO "determined the measures and activities because of the protection of
candidates and symphatizers of the part, especially in the eastern part of
RS". The president of the Presidency of SDS Dragan Kalinic has announced
for today the written announcement from the session.
BANJA LUKA - The steering board of the Association of journalists of RS
announced that "the stoppage of the work of the Serbian Press agency /SRNA/
is unacceptable" and because of that demands "urgent withdrawal and
suspension of such decision". In the announcement issued after the session
at which was considered the situation arisen after the Decision of the
minister of Information of RS Rajko Vasic about stoppage of work of SRNA,
the members of the Steering board of the Association of journalists of RS
are stressing that by this act "was endangered the programme of many other
informational houses in RS".
PRIJEDOR - LEC in Prijedor was concluded that at the electoral lists for
1998 was enlisted 2,061 voters less than last year, and that 1,125 so
called double registered voters will vote at non-confirmed ballots, while 1,
500 voters is registered to vote at another polling stations related to the
last year.
