Reminding that Srdjan, "not allowing that Lazar's curse fall on him, frighted for 'honest cross and golden freedom', for which their lives gave 18,000 veterans, between which many Srdjan;s friends", the president of RS has stressed that he, "thanks to the God's will, from the front of the fighting for freedom, defending Serbian weak children and feeble old people and hearths, returned alive with the glory of the hero."BIJELJINA - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik appealed at the legal authorities and MUP of RS to find the culprits of the crime in which on August 7 in Pale was killed Srdjan Knezevic, the deputy chief of CJB Sarajavo. " I demand as the citizen of RS the culprits of this crime as soon as possible to be arrested and as an example, and also a debt towards the man who gave much for RS" - said Krajisnik in Bijeljina condemning this act which, as he said, "cannot be called in no other way but the crime over crimes". BIJELJINA - The president of the Veteran's Organisation of RS Borislav Bojic stated in Bijeljina that the news about death of the legendary commander of White Wolves Srdjan Knezevic, the member of the presidency of this organisation, deeply shaken all upstanding and honest Serbian heroes, fighters and citizens of RS. In the statement for reporters Bojic highlighted that the famous White Wolf was one of the most outstanding heroes of Sarajevo-Romanija war theatre and the fighter who knew how to fight and who was respected by his comrades because of great bravery in the past fatherland war. BRCKO - The president of the Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Dragan Kalinic demanded urgent investigation and results about murdering Srdjan Knezevic, the deputy chief of CJB Sarajevo. "Besides this, we require data about the recent terroristic attack against Ljubisa Savic Mauzer in Bijeljina" - said Kalinic. PALE - The atrocious and perfidious crime, killing the great hero, undaunted fighter, legendary commander of "White Wolves", the colossus of fatherland war, our dear Srdjan Knezevic is hardly accepted by all honest and well-intentioned people, patriots of RS - said in the Municipal Board of the Serbian People's Union in Pale. I the announcement forwarded to SRNA is stressed that "Srdjan Knezevic, the man colossus, passionately struggled in war and with the same verve continued to work in peace for the common welfare of his people, which he loved more than anything else". BIJELJINA - The killing of the deputy chief of CJB Sarajevo Srdjan Knezevic is the great loss as well as for family so for the municipality Pale, city of Serbian Sarajevo and Veteran's Organisation, in which the deceased Knezevic was very active - assessed the mayor of Serbian Sarajevo Mirko Sarovic. BRCKO - The candidate of SDS for the member of the Presidency of B&h from RS Momcilo Krajisnik sent a message at the preelectoral tribune in Brcko that the elections in September are the referendum at which Serbian people must come out for Srpska. "I call upon all Serbs under the same flag in September and I announce the spectacular victory of patriotic parties with SDS at the head" - said Krajisnik and stressed that "in September we are voting for state, freedom and future". AUG. 9, 1998 DAYNEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKASRBINJE - From the credit of 7,8 millions of $US approved by the European Bank for reconstruction and development of RS, part of the resources will be spent for reconstruction of the magistral road Srbinje -Ustipraca, building of the bridge on the river Drina in the centre of Srbinje, destroyed three years ago in the attacks of NATO aviation, and for reconstruction of the bridge at Sutjeska river at Tjentiste. The Japan Government has approved five millions of dollars for the reconstruction of the bridge at the river Bistrica near Srbinje destroyed in the attacks of NATO, repairing the section of the road Tjentiste-Brod at Drina and other projects.PRISTINA - The Albanian terrorists opened the fire this morning from snipers and machine guns at several police checkpoints on the road Decani- Djakovica and near the places Prilep, Erec and Babaloc - announced the Pristina Media centre. The police responded on fire and is pursuing the assailants. In Leskovac were attacked the houses of family Simic which are at the edge of the village, and the municipal authorities believe that Albanian attackers are hiding in the nearby forests. AUG. 9, 1998 EVENINGNEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKAPALE - In the presence of family, representatives of state organs and great number of friends and citizens in the native village Tvrdimici near Pale was buried the deputy chief of Centre of Public security /SCJ/ Serbian Sarajevo Srdjan Knezevic. The requiem was made by the priests of Pale parish. The minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska / MUP RS/ Milovan Stankovic, while saying good-bye to the legendary commander of "White Wolves", highlighted that "the forcible death of deceased Knezevic has shaken and distressed all honest people", adding that this time it seems as it is choosing and taking away the best between the members of security service. "You were one between most capable and most devoted leaders that RS and its Security had", said Stankovic and added that Knezevic was the participant in defence of Serbian people and creation of RS from the first days. He was always fist in actions and always at the head. Neither four woundings could stop him" - reminded the first man of MUP of RS on the war resume of Srdjan Knezevic and added: "His commitment for justice he confirmed in MUP through performing tasks on protection of citizens, their property and fighting the crime and negative appearances in our Republic". Stankovic has promised that he will do everything that not only the perpetrators, but also those who ordered this crime "learn about rights of truth and justice of law." The president of Municipal Assembly of Pale Predrag Lasica stressed that Knezevic was respected by his friends, that he is legend and pride of Romanija, Jahorina and Trebevic. He stressed that from the legendary chief of "White Wolves" feared the hordes of enemy. To Knezevic said good-bye the commander of intervention unit of "White Wolves", Milos Sljivic, saying: "It is only a physical farewell, because you will stay with us and all Serbian patriots. The legend you are, and legends of Serbian people live for ever. "Reminding that in the war Knezevic had won all the battles for the freedom of Serbian people, Sljivic said that he could not defend from the betrayal hand, because he did not believe that in Serbian people exist betrayers who are able to shot from ambush into the hero and man like Knezevic. On the behalf of the leadership of RS at the funeral of Srdjan Knezevic was RS premier Milorad Dodik, and in front of the Republican Veteran's organisation its president Borislav Bojic.KOTOR VAROS - His Holy Highness Serbian patriarch Mr. Pavle along with assistance of bishop of Banja Luka Mr. Jefrem and clergy of Banja Luka eparchy served the act of baptising the shelter of the monastery Liplje near Teslic, endowment of Nemanjici from 13th century. "Where is the Serbian people there through the centuries were the Serbian sacral objects and, if the god dives, so will be in the times which are coming" - stressed the Serbian patriarch. "Do not forget, dear sisters and brothers the blood given for freedom of your and our RS, because the Serbian victims are fallen for freedom and honour of fatherland. To those victims is taken away this life on earth, but the one eternal given by God is for ever" - stressed patriarch Pavle addressing a great number of gathered believers in front of the monastery Liplje. SARAJEVO - The examination of public opinion in federation B&H /FB&H/ are instigating that the struggle for the Croatian member of the Presidency of B&H between the president of Croatian Democratic Community Ante Jelavic and leader of New Croatian Initiative /NHI/ Kresimir Zubak will be uncertain until the last moment. According to more polls, Jelavic has a support in the region of Hercegovina where he has got 54,7%, while for Zubak was committed 11,9% citizens.
