CLEVELAND - The U.S. have given up a secret plan to arrest the former RS President, Radovan Karadzic, and a general, Ratko Mladic, because the U.S. commanders have fear of bloodshed and great number of dead, due to revenge, what would provoke riots and renewal of the war in the Balkans - said for the "New York Times" high officials of the Clinton's administration. According to the same paper, one of the reasons for their giving up the plan to arrest Dr, Radovan Karadzic and a general Ratko Mladic, is that French commanders are not very wiling to carry out the action. Citing the anonymous statements of the U.S. Government officials, paper says that not even the White House, including the President Clinton himself, could persuade the U.S. military commanders that a risk of arresting the two Serbian leaders is much more valuable than eventual political gains.
