JULY 7, 1998 EVENING

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SOKOLAC - At the September's elections will be decided whether Republika Srpska /RS/ will remain the Serbian state founded at the principles which at the proper time has proclaimed the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ or be drowned into unitary B&H - stated the president of the Presidency of SDS Dragan Kalinic. This assessment he presented on July 6 at the meeting in Sokolac with the representatives of the municipal boards of SDS from the region of Sarajevo-Romanija region.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Socialistic Party of RS Zivko Radisic has stressed on July 6 at the tribune of the Banja Luka settlement Obilicevo that the new Republican Government "for the past five months have done more for RS than previous Government in for five years.

PEC - In the attack of the Albanian terrorists on the Serbian village Lodja on July six was killed the policeman Milo Rajkovic from Pec. In the attacks on this village were killed the policemen Mirko Radunovic /1962/ from Pec and Dejan Prelevic /1974/ from Veric near Istok. As SRNA learns in the hospital in Pec, out of nine wounded policemen, six heavily wounded were transported to VMA /military medical academy/ in Belgrade.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - According to the evidence of the Municipal organisation of Red Cross /RC/ Kosovska Mitrovica, in this municipality is accommodated in the homes of friends and cousins 107 Serbs fled from the villages of Srbica and Vucitrn municipalities. Greatest number of refugees is from Banj, Rudnik and Suvo Grlo in the municipality Srbac, in which in last month remained only adult man who are keeping their homes and other property.

VIENNA - In the organisation of Austrian army and Western European Union /WEU/ in Vienna has commenced the four days seminary about the application of the convention about ban on land mines, passed in December 1997 in Ottawa. At the meeting, which hosts were presiding in EU and WEU Austria and Italy, around 70 participants will debate about the legal aspects of the Convention which anticipate full ban of landmines and methods of searching, clearance and destroying this dangerous weapons.

BRCKO - The president of the State Commission of Republika Srpska /RS/ for exchange Jovo Rosic and the team of researches have commenced, long with the presence of media the exhuming of the 27 Serbian corpses from 17 mass graves from 1992, and the places if graves are being identified by two survived Serbian witnesses.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of OSCE Nicoll Schulz has confirmed that at September's elections, according to the rules of OSCE, can come our also those voters who were applied for elections in 1997, and did not take over voting card. At the press conference in the Federal part of Sarajevo Schulz has stressed that also those, who had the sign "x" on their cards, and which data are corrected, can vote on these elections.

BANJA LUKA - The deputy spokesman of SFOR for sector South- West captain Mark Tanzer has announced in Banja Luka that on Monday, July 13 in RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ will start mine clearance of the terrain with new security methods. Tanzer said at the press conference that it is planned that in next period will be cleared 99,6% regions with mine fields and added that in these operation will participate 45 professionals who will lead 43 teams.

BIJELJINA - The Office for the regional stabilisation of OSCE in Sarajevo will organise from July 13-15 "The Russian- German monitoring flight 1998" over the territory of RS and FB&H, was announced by the General Staff of Army of RS /VRS/.

BANJA LUKA - The office of the campaign for implementation of elections of the Serbian People's Union and chief of electorate Staff Dragan Beric has stated for SRNA that he resigned on these functions because of "ideological wondering and not respecting the ultimately serious job, as pre-electoral campaign, by the leading people of this party". As the additional reasons for such move Beric stated "definitely delayed theoretical profiling of the party, betrayal of proclaimed programme principles and commitments, and catastrophic relation towards those who could by the knowledge and capabilities could endanger potentially the position of the leading persons in the party".

PRISTINA - The terrorists of self-styled "Liberation Army of Kosovo" /KLA/ opened ten times the sniper fire at the members of MUP of Serbia at the control check-points in municipalities Pec, Klina and Decani. The members of MUP of Serbia responded on these attacks, and between them, as SRNA learns, there was no killed and wounded, while eventual casualties between terrorists are not known, but they are possible regarding the violent response of police.

BANJA LUKA - The member of the Main Board of the Party of independent Social-Democrats of RS Krstan Simic assessed in Banja Luka that "any clash in Serbia endangers the national interest of FR Yugoslavia/FRY/, as well as the Dayton agreement in B&H".

ZVORNIK - Delegates Club of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) has consolidated its ranks and they will fight against those who strive to return Republika Srspka (RS) into unitary B&H - said for SRNA in Zvornik President of the SDS Presidency Dragan Kalinic. According to Momcilo Krajisnik "destiny of RS is in the hands of people now and it is needed to be explained what RS can expects if wins one or another option".

RUDO - The Association of Refugees and Displaced Persons "Sveti Sava" from Rudo and UNHCR organised a Tribune in Rudo "How to get back your apartment", at which guest was Patsy Guris from the UNHCR office from Gorazde. Refugees from the Sarajevo Municipalities Ilidza, Centar, Stari Grad, Vogosca and Ilijas thinks that the Sarajevo Declaration regulations according to which refugees does not have the right to exchange or to sell its apartment in the next five years represents violation of the Dayton Peace Accord.

VITEZ - Great disturbances among citizens provoked recent blockade of Santic and Zuma in the Vitez Municipality, with numerous vehicles, tanks and armed SFOR members - Croatian Radio Herceg-Bosna reports. Holland major Folk said that the International War Crimes Tribunal sent its representatives in the region of Ahmic to collect evidences necessary for a trial in the Hague and SFOR and IPTF operates only to give support to this Court. He added that the action was significant for accused ones and detained in the Hague, and it is one of prerequisites for the fast and righteous trial.
