NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The third regular meeting of the RS NA will be organised on January 31 this year in Teslic - it is said from the Cabinet of the RS Parliament's president Dragan Kalinic.Preparatory meeting with chiefs of delegates clubs will be organised on January 28 at 2.00 pm in Bijeljina. Kalinic has sent official invitations to all delegates for participation on the Assembly's session in Teslic." At the consultative meeting of Parliament's President and chiefs of delegates clubs of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), Serbian Radical Party (SRS) SPRS and SNS were discussed some questions on which delegates should have debated on forthcoming session" - it is said in the statement.

BIJELJINA - The President of the RS NA Dragan Kalinic emphasised in Bijeljina that on the last night's consultative meeting with chiefs of delegates clubs has been reached "a constructive agreement which will secure unity of Serbian Parliament and through that also unity of the Republic." At the press conference Kalinic confirmed that is not going to be continuation of the second session, and it has been decided that the Third session of the NA should be organised on January 31 in Teslic.

BANJALUKA - The RS President Biljana Plavsic assesed in Banjaluka that cancellation of the NA session for January 31 "a good decision" and emphasised that the second session of Serbian Parliament "concluded in the most regular way." "I hope that by the January 31 will be enough understanding from representatives of all parties that the third session should be organised in Banjaluka" - emphasised Biljana Plavsic after talks with the Deputy High International Representative for B&H Hans Schumacher. Schumacher stated that " USA and EU are ready to help the RS and its Government so it could deal with urgent problems."

BANJALUKA - On the occasion of commemorative service for the former RS vice- president and president of Writers Association DSc. Nikola Koljevic in the temple of the Saint Trinity in Banjaluka was served requiem after which in the graveyard St. Pantelija in Banjaluka, where is buried prof. Koljevic, was held commemoration. Beside family and relatives of the late prof. Koljevic, the requiem was attended by the president and vice-president of the RS Biljana Plavsic and Dragoljub Mirjanic, the RS Prime minister Milorad Dodik, members of the Government and numerous public and cultular workers of RS.

BIJELJINA - On the occasion of commemorative service for the former RS vice- president Nikola Koljevic, the president of the RS NA Dragan Kalinic reminded in Bijeljina that the "late Nikola Koljevic has been one of the RS founders and one of its best politicians." " I hope that we will be able to preserve in the future time some of the political and moral values of Nikola Koljevic's work"- said the president of the Serbian Parliament.

AMSTERDAM - The political situation and divisions in RS made possible a recent arrest of Goran Jelisic in Bijeljina plays into SFOR hands to do more of these actions against suspects of war crimes - is said in Holland media. The paper reminds that after the Jelisic's arrest situation in Bijeljina is peaceful. The daily "Folcskrant" assesed that with new arrests of SFOR is provided by appointment of Milorad Dodik for Prime minister and creation of new structure of power. Dodik has confirmed to the western diplomacy that he was completely in accordance with further extraditions of suspected for war crimes to Hague.

ROME - The initiative of the German Foreign Affairs Minister Claus Kinkel about unfreezing of funds allocated for RS and looking for new ones, Italian media explains as endeavour of Germany to return 250.000 refugees from B&H. Conveying Kinkel's statement that he already established contact with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to find out new aide funds for RS", Italian commentators are explaining this initiative with fact that among 250.000 refugees from B&H in Germany, 180.000 of them are from RS and most of them want to get back soon as possible.

PRISTINA - The president of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) Momcilo Trajkovic assesed at the opening of the Second Serbian Church-People's Parliament in Pristina that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija was much worse than last year. " We have lost many things and above all the time that is the key factor in solving this dangerous crisis" - said Trajkovic and emphasised that " the Albanian Separatistic Movement had radicalised its political action and had installed on the public political scene a so called Liberation Army of Kosovo which is killing Serbs with no mercy, while the state is not able to do anything.

RUDO - The president of the Rudo Municipal Assembly Rato Rajak stated yesterday that the representatives of this Municipality have nothing against that one seat in the Executive Board is to be taken by the first candidate on a list of Coalition for Whole and Democratic B&H, but they do object against proposal for that to be Abdel Brajanac because before the Court in Visegrad criminal charges are being brought against him accusing him of a genocide against the Serbian people.

BAGDAD - The most influential Iraqi newspaper " Babel" has warned the American President Bill Clinton " not to take any military action against Bagdad in order to hush up his sexual affairs" and that action would cost him more than Vietnam" - convey Reuters.
