BELGRADE - Although there remained only four days until expiring mandate of
UNTAES in Srem-Baranja region the authorities in Belgrade are not
undertaking anything to prevent the massive exodus of Serbs from that
region - warns the Democratic Party of Serbia /DSS/. "Neither the data that
only from the New Year's day until Serbian Christmas Croats in Beli
Manastir expelled from their homes six Serbian families and harassed
another 32, are enough for adequate reaction of the regime in Belgrade" -
is said in the statement of DSS.
BELGRADE - In the Association for assistance for refugees in FRY until now
signed up 238 refugees, mainly families and small number of individuals,
who want to return back to their homes in the regions of former B&H, but
small number out of them have intention to settle permanently in their
place of origin. Mostly the motive for return is the wish to solve the
issue of proprietary rights on apartment or house.
