NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the B&H Presidency from Republika Srpska (RS) Momcilo Krajisnik and the Minister of Defence Milan Ninkovic talked in Pale with the Greek Minister of Defence Akis Johasopulos about entire situation in B&H and the state in RS Army (VRS). After the meeting the president Krajisnik expressed gratitude to Greek troops from SFOR which are ensuring peace in the region of B&H. The Minister Ninkovic acquainted the Greek Minister with the whole situation and reorganisation of VRS, reminding him that Serbian side has fulfilled the obligations anticipated by the Dayton Agreement.

NOVI SAD - The authority in RS and B&H has to be constituted on the compromise, correct and long-term partner foundations, so, without temporary and imposed solutions - warned in the interview for "Dnevnik" from Novi Sad the president in the B&H Presidency form RS Momcilo Krajisnik. Taking up the First Constitutive Session of the National Assembly (NSRS) in Bijeljina, Krajisnik assessed that the way for overcoming crises in B&H had not been found, because, as he said, the president Plavsic had not accepted compromise postponement of the appointment of the Government's mandatory, "She should have not proposed the mandatory because it is impossible to accept that mandatory is from the party that did not get power. This does not exist anywhere" - commented Krajisnik.

SARAJEVO - The presiding officer of the Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) Aleksa Buha expressed in Pale "astonishment of the representatives of SDS and Serbian Radical Party (SRS) because of the way RS president Biljana Plavsic appointed mandatory for the convocation of the Republican Government. In his talks with Charles Crawford, the Great Britain Ambassador to Sarajevo, Buha explained that it has been done "in spite of all norms" and that representatives of SDS and SRS were not even consulted about candidature of Ivanic, nor they have accepted that appointment in any way".

SARAJEVO - The RS Ministry of Information was forced in mysterious way and by other's will to decide whether there is or not going to be direct television transmission of the Constitutive Session of NSRS - said at the press-conference the RS Minister of Information Svetlana Siljegovic. "I have tried to make a compromise and to make possible the direct transmission of the work of the Assembly offering to TV-studio from Banjaluka the cooperation with the studio of the Serbian Radio-Television from Bijeljina, at which the chief of the informative programme of the studio from Banjaluka Mira Lolic answered that she would have not think of the possibility that Predrag Laketa and Vedran Skoro were together transmitting progress of the session - said the Minister Siljegovic.

BANJALUKA - The president of SDS RS Nikola Poplasen stated at the press- conference in Banjaluka that a trend of forming the puppet government is under way in Republika Srpska. Poplasen emphasised that in the realisation of that project are included Serbian National Union, Socialistic Party of RS, Party of Independent Social-Democrats, the part of the International Community, tanks of SFOR and Slobodan Milosevic.

BANJALUKA - It is the most important that forming of the parliament have begun in RS and we are expecting that we will reach the right goal, and that is the unity of Serbian people - stated in Banjaluka the president of Coalition for King and Fatherland Dubravko Prstojevic. He forwarded remarks to the advisors of the president of RS Biljana Plavsic because of their rushed proposing of the mandatory in the RS Government and he assessed that for some persons at the Assembly the direct telecast was more important than establishing of the agenda.

BANJALUKA - The mandatory for the convocation of the new RS Government Mladen Ivanic assessed at the press-conference in Banjaluka that the only way out from the current hard political and economic situation in RS is to form the Government of the national unity. Analysing the concept on the base of which he will compose a new government, Ivanic stated precisely that it will be consisted of two parts, although it will function on the base of unique platform.

AMSTERDAM - The president of FR Yugoslavia /FRY/ Slobodan Milosevic can again alone and unimpeded by opposition to make decisions about the destiny of Kosovo and Republika Srpska /RS/ - concludes the commentator of Dutch "Folkstrant" analysing the current political situation in FRY. He notes that "Milosevic last months offer to Serbs the new scenario of the future, quite opposed to that one which he advocated in 1989. at Gazimestan". Dutch news reminds that "Milosevic, at the beginning of this year was optimistic announcing that it will be the year of great reforms and general economic growth, but in the practice everything remained at the zero".

BELGRADE - The leader of radicals Vojislav Seselj announced that the delegate of the Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ Tomislav Nikolic will propose the forming the poll for examining the regularity of the presidential elections in Serbia. "If that proposal were not accepted we shall call upon the delegates to leave the Assembly, which can not continue its work without quorum" - explained Seselj and added that "the first and eventually second proposal of SRS, will be the examination for the delegates of the Serbian Renewal Movement and Vuk Draskovic".
