NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic talked in Banjaluka with the delegation of Association of Fallen Soldiers Families about possibilities of improving theirs statute questions. After the meeting the President of the Association Ranko Savic stated that RS President supports forming of Organisation of Fallen Soldiers Families in municipalities, because by present Association they did not succeed to solve many questions.

SARAJEVO - The Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek arrived in one-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H). According to earlier announcements Drnovsek should meet with all three members of B&H Presidency - Momcilo Krajisnik, Alija Izetbegovic and Kresimir Zubak separately. But according to announcement from Krajisnik's Office, accessible to SRNA, meeting Krajisnik - Drnovsek will not take place because Mr. Krajisnik called Slovenian Prime Minister to meet in Pale, not in Sarajevo. It is expected that Co-presiding in the Council of Ministers Boro Bosic receive Slovenian Prime Minister in Sarajevo.

SARAJEVO - The 66th session of RS Government will take place in Pale at 14. 30 hours. At agenda is 26 items including and proposition about establishing the Centre for professional rehabilitation and employing of blind and disabled persons.

SARAJEVO - National Assembly of Republika Srpska /NS RS/ dissolved on Jahorina from functions Petko Cancar the judge of the Supreme Court and president of Republican Electoral Commission /REC/, and on his place appointed one of the judges of above mentioned court Nedjo Draskovic. Because of the health reasons also was resumed the vice-president of REC Svetislav Subotic, who was replaced by Vladimir Radosavljevic by the decision of this court. The president of NS RS Dragan Kalinic assessed this session as one of more successful, stressing that the delegates showed the high level of responsibility in solving the current political problems in Republic.

BRCKO - The constitutional session of newly elected Municipal assembly /SO/ Brcko have to start at 10 o'clock, but its work was blocked by 16 delegates of the Coalition for whole and democratic B&H not accepting giving the oath. The president of the Club of delegates of the coalition Cazim Suljevic confirmed for SRNA that in the text of the solemn statement is disputable the expressing of the loyalty to the citizens and Constitution of RS, requesting that in the text on those places before RS have to be B&H.

BRCKO - With tardiness of 105 minutes and two breaks, in 50 minute of the meeting at the municipal parliament constitutive session in Brcko the delegates of the Coalition for whole and democratic B&H started to participate. According to SRNA the session continues in verification of the delegates mandates after what taking of the oath follows.

BRCKO - The Muslim delegates in the newly-elected municipal parliament in Brcko demanded at noon a pause for performing the religious ritual what is rejected by OSCE.

BRCKO - After many delays which lasted for hours, all newlyelected delegates in Brcko municipal parliament, including those from FB&H, signed the solemn oath text which was proposed by OSCE. The parliament previously, with majority of votes, rejected the proposition of the Social-democratic party for B&H and Coalition for whole and democratic B&H which demanded adding of the B&H name by name of RS in the text of the oath.

PRIJEDOR - The constitutional session of the municipal parliament in Prijedor started without attendance of the Coalition for whole and democratic B&H delegates.

SARAJEVO - At four session of the Red Cross Assembly in Pale for the President of this organisation Ljiljana Zelen-Karadzic is reelected and Vice-presidents are Dobroslav Cuk and Bozidar Balaban.

KOTOR VAROS - The Presidency of the Serbian Chetnics Organisation "Ravna Gora" warned in Kotor Varos that "creators of the new world order led by USA in cooperation with some parts of the RS leadership which is loyal to RS President Biljana Plavsic are openly working on division and unification of RS with B&H". The Presidency called all patriots in RS to forget theirs narrowminded personal interests and to prevent divisions in RS.

SARAJEVO - The High Civilian Representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp warned yesterday in Sarajevo that if in B&H the Dayton Agreement were not implemented the World Bank could not function, which will lead to the worsening the economic situation, and that is, according to him, something that worries the international community.

BELGRADE - The chief of the Office of UNHCR Margaret O'Kiff rejected the claims of some Yugoslavian officials that international humanitarian organisations apply the double standards on the detriment of refugees in FRY. In an interview for the news "Danas" she stated that by the budget of UNHCR for 1998 was retained the level of the this year aid for refugees in FRY, amounting 40 million dollars, while the assistance for Croatia and B&H "will be significantly decreased". According to her, the humanitarian needs in FRY are furthermore very high, and the change of the structure of aid will continue to be performed, in order to stimulate the process of integration of the part of refugees into FRY.

SRBINJE - The humanitarian organisation "Cooperatione" from

Italy, which acts in the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, yesterday in Srbinje distributed 10,000 of chickens to the refugees and displaced persons in the rural regions of this municipality. the aid was given to 416 beneficiaries.

BRCKO - The Donors Conference for Brcko which was held at November 4 and 5 had gathered representatives from 12 countries and 11 international organisations. Conference did not provided money for the town but the peace was brought for 40 000 Serbs in Brcko. It is obvious that International Community cannot to support Supervisor's plan for displacing of Serbian families and settling of Muslim and Croats in Brcko.

BIJELJINA - The Third Corps of RS Army (VRS) had successfully performed all tasks which were at front of him posted by VRS General Staff. By this the combat readiness of the Corps was raised at very high level stated for SRNA Colonel Dusan Tomic. According to Colonel Tomic a group of Officers from VRS General Staff led by brigadier general Radislav Krstic had visited and examined units which are under Third Corps command in towns Doboj, Derventa, Modrica, Samac, Brcko, Bijeljina, Ugljevik and Lopare.

ROGATICA - Contrary to terms of the Dayton Agreement the FB&H more and more becomes polygon for recruiting of young Muslim in the groups of radical Islamic fundamentalism ignoring, on that way Mujahedins obligation to leave B&H after the war - concludes the German newspaper "Welt". "After the training members of these groups going in Algeria, Egypt, Gaza strip and western Jordan" - claims the newspaper citing the Croatian newspaper "Vjesnik".
