NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - Serbs have the physical control over Brcko, because of five most responsible functions in the city three belongs to them, and therefore this city remains in the territory of Republika Srpska /RS/ - stated the international supervisor Robert Farrand, after the talks with the president of Republika Srpska Ms. Biljana Plavsic in Banjaluka. Plavsic warned on the possibility of splitting RS into two parts, just in Brcko, if "particular politicians do not fulfil the orders of the international supervisor".

BIJELJINA - The Serbian Democratic party /SDS/ will conduct the electoral campaign in the specific conditions "of democratic darkness" which is governing in the Eastern part of RS, so it is forced to focus its media presentation in the local media, on the placards, in proclamations and immediate contacts with population - stated in Bijeljina the presiding of the Presidency of SDS Aleksa Buha. Pointing out the importance of these elections, Buha warned that in the case of defeat of SDS will be increased already present ''efforts of the international community to cancel or decrease the degree of independence of the independence of RS agreed in Dayton".

SARAJEVO - The international community will not abandon the requirement of imposing to the editors of SRT - Studio Sarajevo, including the replacements on the leading posts and Steering Board - is stressed at the press conference in Lukavica of the representative of the Office for Human rights.

OO reiterately said that the participation of this party at the eventual constitutional session is still uncertain since the supervisor Robert Farrand didn't replied on the objections of the Serbian political parties about the orders on introducing the multi-ethnical government, almost identical stance support the representatives of the Serbian Radical Party and Socialistic party /SP/ of RS.

BANJA LUKA - Banja Luka didn't get the mayor yet, since none of two candidates didn't get the over half majority - the candidate of SP Nebojsa Radmanovic won 30, and his countercandidate Aleksandar Iliskovic from the Serbian party of Krajina and Posavina /SSK&P) 25 out of total 70 delegates. The harmonising the proposals for choice of the mayor will be continued tomorrow.

BRATUNAC - The president of the Veteran's organisation of Bratunac Jovan Nikolic claims that at the list of delegates of the Coalition for whole and democratic B&H, who won 20 seats in the new municipal parliament, are present also the commanders of the Moslem units who, in the year 1993, attacked the village Kravice and killed 49, and wounded 38 Serbs.

DOBOJ - The Executive board of municipal assembly of Doboj has brought the decision on forming the commission for efficacious solving the housing matters and allocation of the land for autumn sawing to refugees and displaced population.

BIJELJINA - The early parliamentary elections are imposed to Republika Srpska /RS/, but the government will do everything that it can to correct the electoral rules and to harmonise it with the laws of RS - stated in Bijeljina the president of National Assembly Dragan Kalinic. Stressing that the electoral rules are still unfavourable for the great number of Serbian voters - displaced persons, voters from FR Yugoslavia /FRY/, and especially Serbs from RS Krajina", Kalinic expressed the hope that the people will grant full confidence to SDS, and that "they will have understanding for difficulties in which the party and Government have worked".

SARAJEVO - The vice-president of the House of People of the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H Momir Tosic warns that the delegates from RS are being informed about the session verbally and untimely. "In that way objectively we are not able to come" - explained Tosic, reacting on the claim of the Sarajevo radio that the Session of the Parliamentary Assembly was not held in Sarajevo because "the delegates from RS did not come, nor explained their absence".

DOBOJ - The inspection team of the General Staff of RS Army with the general major Radoslav Krstic at the head, positively estimated the preparation of soldiers and equipped with materially-technically resources of the Garrison in Doboj. h assistant of the head of General Staff of VRS for moral, religious and legal jobs the colonel Milorad Kutlesic stressed that the General staff and the leadership of RS are undertaking the series of measurements with the aim of improving material security of the VRS units, between other and the members of the Third Corpse.

MRKONJIC GRAD - The new president of the Municipal assembly of Mrkonjic Grad is Stevan Stojcic, the candidate of the Socialistic Party of Republika Srpska /SPRS/, for whom voted 34 out of 41 delegates. The delegates of SDS thought that for the vicepresident of the municipal parliament have to be elected the member o this party, but their opinion was not accepted, and this post remained empty.

TESLIC - The delegates of Municipal asse,bly of Teslic didn't reach an agreement about appointments on the leading posts because of the requirement of the Serbian Democratic Party /SRS/, who insisted on the allocation of all key mandates in the Executive Board /IO/, after which the session was interrupted. Such an requirement of SRS was not acceptable according to the statute and Rules of Procedure of Municipal assembly - stressed other delegates.

RUDO - Nor at the repeated constitutional session of the Municipal Assembly of Rudo the representatives of SDS and SRS didn't reach the agreement about the president of the municipality and Executive Board. SRS do not give up from the requirement that the president of the municipality and president of Executive Board would be from their party.

BELGRADE - The commissioner for refugees of Republika Srpska Bratislava Morina required from Carol Fober, the special envoy of UNHCR, the support for project of return of 60,000 of refugees from FR Yugoslavia into RS. She assessed that the return of refugees would be "most unpainful for all parties", is written in the announcement of Ministry for Information of Serbia.

SARAJEVO - If the authorities in Federation B&H within the period of next two weeks do not undertake the necessary measurements related to the reports about misuses of revenues and tax and customs evasion, the Office of Carlos Westendorp will react - warned the spokesman of the High representative Simon Haselock.

MOSTAR - The Moslems obstruct the electoral results, which in next period will represent the great problem in functioning the local authorities in the majority of municipalities - concluded the Croatian radio Herceg-Bosna, stating that at the constitutional session of SO Stolac the disputable issues were not discussed because of the stances of Croatian and Moslem delegates.

SARAJEVO - The police of the Canton Sarajevo wounded one person during arresting 47 Arabs, mainly Egyptians, who during the weekend intended to go to the west via Federation B&H - announced the spokesman of UN Liam McDowel, stating precisely that the person, which identity was not announced, was wounded from the fire arms is in the Sarajevo hospital.

KIEV - The Ukraine will tomorrow in BIH send two high military officials who will with the SFOR officers conduct the investigation about arresting seven Ukranian soldiers because illegal trade with tobacco and alcohol - announced the spokesman of the Ukrainian Ministry of deence Seri Nagorianski. The local Croatian police claims that they were arrested while from military trucks were unloading the cigarettes and alcohol, intended for smuggling, value ammounting $US 500,000.
