NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BEOGRAD - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the B- H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Belgrade with Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic on a full implementation of the Belgrade agreement and details of the organisation of presidential elections in RS, announced Belgrade sources close to the RS Government. It is not known whether Krajisnik met with former Greek prime minister Constantin Micotakis who is in visit in Belgrade.

SARAJEVO - Regarding the newest decisions of supervisor for Brko, Robert Farrand, the RS Government decided in Pale to form a team to review issues related to the status of this city. The team, headed by RS vice-premier Aleksa Buha would be comprised of Brko mayor Miodrag Pajic, RS interior minister Slavko Paleksic, RS agent in the arbitration process Radomir Lukic and RS arbitrator Vitomir Popovic.

BEOGRAD - The Association of Writers of Serbia (UKS) presented the "Second Declaration on Closure of Process of the Hague Tribunal against Dr Radovan Karadzic". "Other than universal reasons for defence of human rights of individuals in cases when their nationality is taken as a negative attribute - which is obvious in respect to Dr Karadzic who is writer and statesman - we are governed by our duty to see in the same person the UKS member and to seek justice for him", said in the introductory word of the UKS president Slobodan Rakitic. His Holiness, Patriarch of the Serbs, Pavle, gave his blessing for the Declaration, signed by 60 intellectuals. Fourteen members of the Serb Academy of Science and Art wanted to "inform domestic and international public of truth, of maintaining of the international legal order and recognition of the Serbian people as an equal member of the international community."

NOVI GRAD - The Municipal Board of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) for Novi Grad suggested an emergency session of the SDS Assembly. The SDS Municipal Board calls upon all municipal organisations in RS to support this demand for Assembly convention for review of the SDS Main Board's report on activities and its reconstruction, as well as identification of new tasks concerning all current issues under SDS scope of activities and in RS.

PRIJEDOR - The first candidate of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) for the up-coming parliamentarian elections is Nikola Popalsen, and is followed by district presidents and SRS municipal boards presidents lined-up according to successes they have achieved at the local elections, says the Executive Board of the SRS.

BEOGRAD - The SRS president Vojislav Seselj stated in Belgrade that the SRS and SDS would constitute joint authority in RS municipalities where it appeared necessary. At a press conference he reaffirmed that on Monday he talked with the president in the B-H Presidency from RS Momcilo Krajisnik about over-all political situation in RS and all Serbian lands.

BANJALUKA - RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic talked in Banjaluka with charge d'affaires for culture of the Swiss Embassy in Sarajevo, Wolfgang Amadeus Brilard and Swiss professor of history Urs Ajtermat on improvement of science-cultural system in RS. Mirjanic underlined that the aim of the visit was to assist RS scientific-cultural institutions which provides for submission of cultural projects in RS to Swiss Embassy by December 15 at latest.

SARAJEVO - RS finance minister Drago Simic talked in Pale with representatives of the World Bank on privatisation of the RS banking system. Representatives of the RS economic banks attended the meeting which dealt with the problem of old hard currency savings.

SARAJEVO - RS health minister Mirko Sosic and director of the World Bank Heath Programme Implementation Unit Miladin Babic signed an agreement with one local and four foreign companies on delivery of medical equipment to 11 state hospitals. While assessing that the agreement was based on the World Bank loan, Sosic said that qualitative equipment would be sent to RS hospital within next 60 days and distribution would be carried out according to priority needs of each hospital.

ZVORNIK - RS minister of information Svetlana Siljegovic stated for the latest edition of Zvorik monthly "Srpski Glas" that journalists of this country showed their great patriotism fighting against "dragons" and that they are now exposed to unspeakable humiliation.

SARAJEVO - The SRT Studio Sarajevo started to broadcasts its programme, by which it included again into the SRT united system. Many-day blockage of the SRT was broken by broadcast of central news programme at 19:30 hrs, following which the Studio continued the programme.

SARAJEVO - The latest session of the Main Board passed in a good atmosphere. The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) got the majority of votes at the past local elections and won the elections in the majority of municipalities of RS, stated the director of the SDS Direction Vlado Vrkes for SRNA.

BRCKO - Representatives of political parties which won majority seats at the local elections in Brcko, sent a letter to Brcko supervisor Robert Farrand in which pointed out at unfeasibility of his orders on installing the multi-ethnic authority in this city. the representatives of the SDS, SRS and Socialist Party of RS warned that the orders by the supervisor were prejudiced and that they can be valid only after the City Assembly is constituted. They also pointed out at impossibility to change the city Statute, subject to the RS Law on Statute.

SRBINJE - At his meeting with representatives of OSCE and Local Electoral Commission the president of the Srbinje Municipality, Milos Lazovic, refused to sign the document on final electoral results, for 786 improperly registered voters from the Federation of B-H voted in the area.
