'The Army carries out the duties it is authorised to exclusively, then the tasks of training and education for the needs of the RS defence and fully disassociates itself from all the political streams and options', specifies Colic.SARAJEVO - The head of the Provisional Electoral Commission (PEK) Petko Cancar stated that some 1,154,697 voters are registered for the up-coming local elections in RS with about 1,343,319 registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Hercegovina (FB&H). About 110,000 voters casted their votes in abroad last year, while some 300,000 voters registered themselves this year. In contrast to last year when some 230,000 voters were registered in the FR of Yugoslavia, only 75,000 voters are registered this year to vote in absentia. SARAJEVO - A session of the Council of Ministers took place at the National Museum in Sarajevo, discussing about the issues on citizenship and a passports law. BRCKO - Some 3,619 fake Muslim voters were found on the final voter registration list for the local elections in Brcko, confirmed the Local Electoral Commission head Teodor Gavric. Out of the above figure, 180 persons are from the Federation-controlled part of the Municipality, 92 names were signed twice, 540 persons presented the identification documentation with incomplete data, then 493 persons were not registered at the Police Station in Brcko, while even 2,308 Muslims registered for the elections in Brcko are not included in the 1991 census. DOBOJ - The SFOR Nordic-Poland Brigade Headquarters and the IPTF district in Doboj, assess that there will be no incidents in the wider region of Doboj at the time of elections scheduled for September 13 and 14, this was stated for journalists at a press conference of the multinational forces and international police in the city. The SFOR Nordic-Poland Brigade press spokesman, major Magnus Edwinson, stated that the multinational troops will anyway be on their guard, especially during the elections. BELGRADE - The leader of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Vojislav Seselj stated that the forthcoming municipal elections in RS will be held in irregular conditions. 'Despite of that all we made a decision on participating at that elections because Americans are just waiting for a boycott by the eminent Serb parties in order to present the election results as a victory of Biljana Plavsic's traitor forces', stated Seselj. BELGRADE - The president of the Federal Commission on offering help to the refugees while they are casting their votes at the local elections in B&H, Bratislava Morina, stated that this Commission and the OSCE supervisors are to do their utmost for the September 13 and 14 elections to be held properly and to make it possible for all the registered voters to vote. Morina reminded us that 'the Commissariate, the Federal Commission and the OSCE Office to Belgrade have made considerable efforts in the implementation of the Dayton Agreement and the fostering of peace in these areas'. KRAGUJEVAC - A political analyst and lecturer in the USA, Aleksa Djilas, stated in Kragujevac, that 'the Serbian politicians are discussing now about who is the one to be supported in RS, but none is considering the worst version - what should Serbia do in the event of a threat by a mass expulsion of Bosnian Serbs'. BELGRADE - The spokesperson of the Serbian Liberal Party, Zora Cvijic is backing the decision made by the National Assembly of RS because it is in the interest of the Serbian people. 'The Serbian people from the other bank of the Drina River are to make decisions by themselves in accordance with their interests. Belgrade's interference can only cause damage, this being evident from the current situation in RS', stated Cvijic. BELGRADE - The spokesman of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), Milorad Jovanovic, assessed in Belgrade that the Parliament of Republika Srpska has made a good decision by deciding to come out at the elections. 'The DSS believes that the elections are the way for overcoming the crisis and are to be held at all the levels, i.e. local, parliamentary and presidential levels. This is the first step, even though the local elections are less important in regard to all the others', stated Jovanovic. TREBINJE - The head of the Executive Board of the Municipal Assembly of Trebinje, Borivoje Ninkovic, denied the articles of Belgrade press presenting 'a refugee centre in the settlement of Pudarica, in Trebinje, as the former prison in which not even the minimal living conditions exist'. 'The building of which the Belgrade press wrote recently neither has been a prison nor just a single person, who was sentenced to any prison term, was captured there, not to speak about the cases of serving prison sentences', pointed out Ninkovic. NIS - The OSCE representatives in charge of organising and observing the municipal elections in RS and the Federation of B&H are yet to arrive in Nis, although it was envisaged that refugees are allowed to vote in absentia. Some 2,300 voters are registered in Nis. MOSTAR - The deputy mayor of the divided Mostar, Safet Orucevic, does not believe that Mostar is the reason why the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) has announced to boycott the local elections scheduled for September 13 and 14, report Muslim media. "I believe that some other kind of politics is at point and some other places - being pilfered by the Croats following the war occurrences - at which some unforeseen things had happened during the voters registration', stated Orucevic. MOSTAR - On September 9, two Muslims physically attacked on the brothers, Juro and Vinko Jelanic, at the Croatian village of Kokosari, in the vicinity of Travnik, where they returned after being in exile, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Srednjebosanska municipality. The two Muslims beat up two Jelanic brothers by a pitchfork, inflicting them serious injuries. They were given the first aid help at the Hospital in Travnik. SOKOLAC - The constructing of an airport at Sokolac, which has been started two months ago, is intensified these days. Workers and machines of the 'Borovica' enterprise from Ruma are carrying out earthworks.
