NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - Regarding the public instigation by many parliamentarian and non- parliamentarian political parties on violation of the RS Constitution, the RS Government issued a communique that "no one will be allowed to put the state and its security at risk". The communique, signed by the RS prime minister, further explains that the contending of the RS Constitutional Court order that the decisions should not be based upon disputed presidential decision dissolving the RS Assembly, also means a campaign for the dissolution of the RS Government.

SARAJEVO - Today's session of the Council of Ministers, devoted only the deliberation on the Law on citizenship, did not result in an agreement, so the work on this, one of the most important acts to be adopted on the B-H level, will continue on Thursday, stated the co-chairman in the Council of Ministers.

SARAJEVO - Deputy foreign minister in the Council of Ministers of B-H Dragan Bozanic, informed the EU representative Florence Diko and the member of the Dutch Parliament Ian Dirik Blau about the current activities of the joint institutions of B-H, during their meeting at the National Museum in Sarajevo. Bozanic underscored that the Council of Ministers discussed on the Law on citizenship which should lead to a solution embracing the elementary human rights.

NOVI GRAD - The member of the B-H Council of Ministers from RS, Gavro Bogic, announced that several relevant documents, including the Law on passports and Law on foreign affairs, should be adopted by the end of the week. In commenting the presented positions over the Law on citizenship, Bogic said that the most disputable point is whether the entities are carriers of the citizenship or it is regulated on the Union of B-H level.

BIJELJINA - The head of the RS Army General Staff, general Pero Colic, visited the VRS engineering units involved in the construction of the Samac- Bijeljina railroad, and praised their commitment in the reconstruction and rebuilding of the Republic.

BRCKO - Over 3,500 Serbs from Brcko who were not allowed to vote in this city certainly would not vote in municipalities in the B-H Federation from which they were expelled, stated the representatives of the Association of Refugees and Displaced Persons in Brcko, at the meeting with supervisor Robert Farrand. "The three and a half hour talks left many questions unresolved, but I think that we can be satisfied with this meeting", stated the Association president Milorad Zivlak, who said that the contacts with supervisor would be continued.

BANJALUKA - The IPTF spokesman, Alun Roberts confirmed that the IPTF members found two Serb detainees in the Zenica prison on Saturday, August 2, and that the two were released and handed over to RS authorities in Banjaluka. At a press conference in Banjaluka he confirmed that Nenad and Dusan Skrbic from Teslic were captured by the Muslim Army on September 10, 1995, and hidden from the international humanitarian organisations.

DOBOJ - If SFOR representatives stopped the passengers train on the Doboj - Banjaluka line and searched and identified passengers, responsibility is on the British SFOR members, who do not belong to the SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade, assessed the Brigade's spokesman, major Magnus Edvinson. He said that he did not know anything about the incident, and that the members of the Nordic- Polish Brigade, as far as he is concerned, were not responsible for it.

ZVORNIK - Doctors and other personnel of the Medical Centre in Zvornik publicly protested the arrest of the director of Prijedor Hospital Dr Milan Kovacevic under war crimes charges. The director of the Centre, Atnas Kurtic said "the Prijedor case is unallowable for modern civilisation, given the abuse of the Red Cross symbols, especially".

SERB SARAJEVO - There were no injured among passengers of the "Romanijaprevoz" bus operating on the Belgrade-Serb Sarajevo line, stoned by a group of Muslims near the Brus community on Trebevic, on Sunday at about 20:15 hrs, announced the Police station Novo Sarajevo.

VISEGRAD - The Association of Serb displaced from Serb Sarajevo in Visegrad distanced itself from the self-willing, unprepared and dangerous visit of 14 Sarajevo Serbs, mostly women, to Vogosca, the Sarajevo community under Muslim control, assessing it as unwise act. The Association concluded that "their recklessness could have been paid dearly, for the prepared and organised group of 700 enraged Muslims was ready for a classical lynch of the Serb refugees".
