NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
SARAJEVO - The Republika Srpska (RS) Government is not in position to hold
its session convened by RS president Biljana Plavsic for August 2, because
the Government officials had already got invitations to attend the St.
Ilija Day in a number of municipalities and enterprises. SRNA publishes the
announcement from the RS Government consultative session in its entirety.
SARAJEVO - Deputy RS foreign minister in the B-H Council of Ministers,
Dragan Bozanic, talked in Sarajevo with the high representative of the
international community Carlos Westendorp on portioning of B-H diplomatic-
consular bureaus. Bozanic, who replaced president in the B-H Presidency
from RS, Momcilo Krajisnik, informed Westendorp of Serb suggestions for the
portioning of B-H embassies in the world.
PRIJEDOR - The head of the RS Army (VRS) General Staff, general Pero Colic,
attended the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the VRS Fifth Kozara
Brigade in Omarska, near Prijedor. "The glorious deed of this Brigade was
not in vain, for we have created RS, which is recognised in Dayton and
which will have to be recognised by the whole world", stated Colic and
added: "The Fifth Kozara Brigade is adorned by care for each soldier and
for families of deceased soldiers - and this is our permanent obligation.
"
SARAJEVO - The Contact Group countries representatives are in session in
the high representative office in Sarajevo, discussing sanctions to be
imposed against the non-compliant parties to the Sintra deadlines,
announced high representative's spokesman David Bullivant. At a press
conference he gave some quite pessimistic prognoses on the possibilities to
meet deadlines which, practically, expire today. He reminded that the B-H
Council of Ministers failed to adopt Law on citizenship and Law on
passports, at its session of July, 31.
DOBOJ - Medical workers cannot allow trial to their colleagues from RS only
because they were together with their people in the most difficult moments -
this was concluded at a meeting of the medical workers in Doboj, held as a
support to arrested Dr Milan Kovacevic, charged by the Hague Tribunal for
alleged war crimes. They said that "medical workers of RS treated in their
medical facilities members of other peoples equally and dignifiedly and in
full observance of the internationally recognised medical ethics.
