JULY 27 1997 EVENING
NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
HAMBURG - The aid promised for Republika Srpska /RS/ and Federation B&H
/FB&H/ at the Donors Conference in Brussels could be used for
reconstruction of destroyed settlements, development of health and similar
matters - concludes the German news "Neues Detschland", but, in the
analysis of the results of the Brussels gathering is expressed the doubt
that for organisers these noble objectives were of the second order. It
seems that for the organisers was more important to provide several
hundreds of millions $US as the premium for the head of the Serbian leader
Dr. Radovan Karadzic" - explains the commentator of "Neues Detschland". He
warns that, "from the point of view of the international community, in B&H
is allowed all except to be Serb and has one Karadzic".
MOSTAR - The U.S. undersecretary for human rights John Shatuck reiterated
the warning that RS "will get no cent" of the international aid , if it do
not respect the provisions of the Dayton Agreement on extradition of
indicted for war crimes and on freedom of movement - reports AFP. "Those
who want to have the power in this region have no other choice but to
engage themselves on the way of multi-ethnical society, enabling the
freedom of movement and right on return" - stressed Shatuck announcing the
new hunt against unsuitable Serbs.
GRADISKA - By laying down the flowers on the monument of killed fighters
and victims of the fascist terror in the Second World War, the graves of
the killed fighters in the fatherland war and the grave of the general
Rajko Balac, buried in the Masica cemetery, in the village Masici near
Gradiska was held the commemoration on the occasion of the 51 anniversary
of the victory against fascism. The reminding on the suffering of the
Serbian people in the Second World War and strong resistance to the enemies
in the last fatherland war, was organised by the Municipal Board of the
Association of fighters of Peoples liberation war and cooperation with the
local fighters association from this war and the people of Masici.
SAN SEBASTIAN - Around 20,000 of Basks protested in the streets of San
Sebastian, at the north of Spain, in the organisation of the coalition
"Harry Batasun", the political wing of ETA, against Spanish authorities and
police. Peacefully walking through the streets, the demonstrators were
shouting the words of support to ETA and secession of Baskia from Spain.
