BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic would support OSCE and Robert Farrand's Office's efforts to have the up-coming elections organised as best as possible, stated Aleksandar Pavic, RS presidential political advisor. Pavic said today's talks between president Plavsic and supervisor for Brcko Robert Farrand were held on reasons for the closing of four registration centres in Brcko and the implementation of the second phase of refugees return. He specified that "the Supervisor was very forthcoming in regard to the procedure for the return of refugees". "The registration in Brcko will resume with an enhanced control, to make sure that the elections in this city will take place on September 13 and 14", said Farrand.

SARAJEVO - The president from RS in the B-H joint Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with OSCE Mission chief in RS and Federation of B- H, Robert Frowick, about the newly arisen problems in relation to the voters registration in Brcko and OSCE decision to renew the voters registration. Following the meeting, Momcilo Krajisnik stated that all problems and consequences this decision might draw were presented to ambassador Frowick.

VISEGRAD - The president in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik stated in Visegrad that RS would develop politically, economically and socially, even though "this period of development is even more difficult for RS than the war-time was". He visited the community of Bikavac where residential buildings with about 150 apartments are planned to be built.

SARAJEVO - The B-H Council of Ministers and representatives of the World Bank failed to agree ways to service debts to the World Bank, deadline for which expires tomorrow. The Council copresident from RS, Boro Bosic, said that "all officials, together with the World Bank representatives, must pledge additional efforts to resolve the problems in the debt servicing".

ZVORNIK - In the Zvornik village of Jusici, populated by Muslims, three RS policemen were injured in an incident occurred when the police patrol attempted to arrest Mumin Islamovic, charged by the Main Court in Zvornik for several offences.

DOBOJ - IPTF spokesman in Doboj, Andre Anjeli confirmed that there was a local agreement on exchange of territories, under which the RS would concede the community Krtova on Mt Ozren for Donja Recica and Kopica, former parts of the Maglaj municipality. Terms of the agreement, guaranteed by SFOR and IPTF, were not revealed.

SARAJEVO - The World Bank's director for Central Europe, Christine Wallich, warned that funds should be distributed according to criteria to be agreed to prior to the donors conference. "This must be done in order to avert any possibility of a credit suspension", stated Christine Wallich, resuming the results of yesterday's talks with RS and Federal prime ministers, Gojko Klickovic and Edhem Bicakcic respectively.

SARAJEVO - The president of the RS Electoral Commission, Petko Cancar, stated that he was surprised by OSCE decision on closing registration centres in Brcko, but that he expected such thing to happen in the RS bordering municipalities. "This is why we have to be cautious", warned Cancar for the Serb Radio-TV.

BANJALUKA - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) for RS assessed in Banjaluka that yesterday's decision of the OSCE Mission head Robert Frowick to suspend the registration process in Brcko "is one in the series of pressures upon the RS". In this respect, the SRS for RS general secretary, Miodrag Rakic, mentioned that "taking account of previous decisions of international representatives, this decision does not represent a big surprise".

BANJALUKA - The member of the Serbian Patriotic Party Main Board, Drago Talijan, assessed as unserious the decision on suspension of voters registration in Brcko. BANJALUKA - The president of the Radical Patriotic Front "Nikola Pasic", Bozidar Bojanic, stated in Banjaluka that the closing of registration centres in Brcko "was a planned move by OSCE purposed to violate the Dayton status of RS". BEOGRAD - The president of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Vojislav Kostunica, attended the presentation of the book "Arguments for Republika Srpska" by Aleksa Buha. While speaking at the presentation, Kostunica underscored the importance of the RS independence, especially in view of last year's elections, but also pointed out at too loose interpretation of the Dayton agreement threatening to RS independence.
